Take Action

Take more responsibility for your health.  Ask your healthcare providers questions–no question is stupid.  If you don't understand an answer, ask again!  If your questions aren't answered to your satisfaction, ask for a referral to someone who can give you a second medical opinion.

Health care is changing.  Now, more than ever, women must take more responsibility for the health care needs of their families and themselves.  You may not only be concerned about your own risk of heart disease and stroke, but also that of your children, parents and other loved ones.  Children of parents with heart disease are more likely to develop it themselves

Of the 63 percent of women who died suddenly of coronary heart disease, there was no previous evidence of the disease.  Studies have shown that identifying the disease early so that risk factors can be controlled may slow down the development of heart disease.  This can be achieved in two ways:  by obtaining medical screening for risk factors, and by developing lifestyles that will either prevent risk factor occurrence or minimize their effects.

For over 20 years Carolina Cardiology Associates has provided the latest technology to diagnose and treat heart disease, so that people live longer, more active lives.  We are committed to reducing the occurrence of the number one killer of American women today.
